RUBELLA is a 3-day measles. It causes a mild fever and rash to kids. Rubella can be very serious to pregnant women. A small sample of blood can detect this disease.

A rubella blood test checks to see if you have antibodies to the rubella virus. Antibodies are proteins your immune system makes to help fight infections and keep you from getting sick.

A “positive” IgM test, meaning you have IgM in your blood, could be because you’ve recently been infected. A “negative” IgM test usually means you’re not infected. IgG test results stack up:
A positive test is 1.0 or higher. That means you have rubella antibodies in your blood and are immune to future infection.
A negative test is 0.7 or lower. You have too few antibodies to make you immune. If you have any, they can’t be detected.
