The hormone that helps control growth and the chemical reactions in our bodies is called human growth hormone. Too much or too little HGH can lead to a variety of issues, including: dwarfism, fatigue, acromegaly (too much growth of hands, feet, facial bones, and other body parts), bone weakness, and delayed puberty.
This test is to diagnose growth hormone (GH) deficiency or, less commonly, growth hormone excess; to evaluate pituitary function; to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for excess production of GH.
