Creatine Phosphokinase: When muscle tissue is damaged, CPK leaks into your blood. Therefore, high levels of CPK usually indicate some sort of stress or injury to your heart or other muscles.
CPK blood test is done to: 1) help them diagnose a heart attack
2) find the cause of your chest pain
3) find out how much heart or muscle tissue has been damaged
Total CPK normal values: 10 to 120 micrograms per liter (mcg/L)
