Color Doppler sonography in obstetrics evaluates the vascularity and blood flow within the uterus (both gravid and nongravid), ovaries, fetus and placenta. In the future, color Doppler may also be used in the three-dimensional reconstruction and visualization of fetal and placental vessels.
