To exclude or confirm the presence of deep and or superficial venous thrombosis as a cause of pain and swelling in the upper limb.
There are different scanning techniques which include Subclavian Vein, Axillary vein, Upper Arm Veins (Brachial & Basilic), Forearm veins (Radial & Ulna).
