Some of the conditions that the D-dimer test is used to help rule out include: Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) Pulmonary embolism (PE) or disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC).
A normal D-dimer result less than or equal to 500 ng/mL fibrinogen equivalent units.
